Adult Ministries

Classic Christians

This ministry is geared towards "classic" adults (for ages 50 and up!). Our purpose is to keep active in body, mind and spirit. We do this by fellowship dinners, stimulating programs and activities nights, day trips to local sights and dinner theatres, and multi-day bus trips to places such as Cape Cod, North Carolina, Maine, Vermont, Charleston and Savannah and others!

Be sure to check the worship bulletin and newsletter for our upcoming schedule!

Coordinator:  Rev. Ray Graham

As our members and friends age, being present for worship and events can become a challenge.  They are missed, and their relationship with our church community is important.  Tele-Care is a circle of members devoted to keeping in contact with members going through difficult times or those who can no longer make it out to be present with us.  With phone calls and cards the Tele-Care group keeps in contact!  If you are interested in being a caller, or if you know someone who might appreciate the calls, contact Rev. Ray Graham.

 Women’s Ministries

United Methodist Women

President: Judy Tanner

With approximately one million members, the United Methodist Women (UMW) is the largest lay women's organization of a major Protestant denomination in the United States. The Elkton UMW meet in "circle" groups. Each of our five circles meets anywhere from 9-12 times a year. Some meet in the evening and others meet during the day.

We invite all women of our church to join any of these circles or start a new circle! Please contact the President of UMW, Judy Tanner at Tannerjudy31@gmail or the church office for additional information.

in December, the UMW holds its annual fundraiser – a Cookie Walk.   The funds raised at this event (along with other money given by the various circles)  support UMW mission projects around the world and locally in Cecil County (including our church, the Help Center, the Boys and Girls Club, Cecil Heating Assistance Program, Sunbridge Nursing Home Ministry, the Community Kitchen, and Meals on Wheels).

Women's Retreat

In January each year (Martin Luther King weekend), women from our church gather in Ocean City MD at the Dunes Manor Hotel for a weekend retreat.   Recent retreat themes have been Gratitude, Dealing with Being Overwhelmed, and Self-Worth.  The theme for the 2016 retreat will be “Filling Your Hunger, Quenching Your Thirst."   The information for the retreat for 2017 can be found here.
