Costa Rica Mission Trip

costaricaCOSTA RICA

Our Mission Team is in the final planning stages for a mission trip of young adults, ages 16 and up and other interested men and women to join us on a trip to Costa Rica in the summer of 2017.  The trip is 10 days and is tentatively set for August 1 - 11.

We are focusing on involving youth in this life-changing project, but other adults are welcome also. We will be working on construction projects in northern Costa Rica through Volunteers in Mission (VIM).  We will be doing whatever God calls us to do through the direction of Mary Woods, resident Missionary. We plan to also teach some skills, crafts and Bible School.  The team will also be involved in our own spiritual development through group devotions and worship experiences with the local congregations.

Our UMC brothers and sisters of Kent Island UMC have been engaged in work there for many years, and have led hundreds of others, like the members of our team, to join them in this important work.  Bill Johnston was part of a previous team, as was Terri Lokey.

Terri is leading our team, and the rest of the members are:  Megan O’Neal, Allison Rogers, Joe Tanner, Susan McDowell, Ted McDowell, Debby Miller and Lenore Dreisbach.  Please remember them in your prayers as they leave on Wednesday and return on August 11th.  Pray that they will have safe travels, and a wonderful and transforming time in Costa Rica.

We are going to be using a host of social media during this trip and you can follow our mission team using the following icon links:     Google Photos
