Sunday School for Children and Youth

  Sunday School classes for all ages start at 9:45 a.m. and end at 10:45 a.m.

2 & 3 Year Olds:  Children will discover God’s love by using all of their senses and movement.  Susan Starrett/Susan Zimmer (Room 29)

Pre-Kindergarten:  Preschoolers will learn about the Bible through their senses, social interactions and movement.  Lori Foster/Jane Kovicak (Room 27)

Kindergarten and 1st Grade:  Children will experience their faith through activities, games, crafts and stories.  Barb Pinder/Jeanette Perkins (Room 28)

2nd & 3rd Grade:  Children will learn about their faith through developmentally appropriate activities, stories and discussion.  Katie Valetutti/Linda Renshaw

4th Grade:  This class will come to know Jesus as the son of God and take his message to heart through Bible study, activities and games.  Robin Lewis/Melinda Grablis (Room 21)

5th & 6th Grade:  Children will come to a better understanding of God and what God calls them to do and be.  Marlene/Bob Gautsch (Room 31)

7th & 8th Grade:  Students will use a DVD component to discuss real life questions of faith and study from the Bible.  Ray Forney (Room 30)

High School:  This group will be reading the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan.  Students will view a DVD and hold an open discussion.  Sandy Lavelle/Rob Kovicak (Basement Weldin Hall)

Sunday School for Adults

 

Tradition and Wisdom: This is a discussion style class that follows “The New International Lesson Annual.”  Students will survey the wisdom literature of the Old Testament in Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon.  Then we will return to the Sermon on the Mount of Matthew to discover how Jesus teaches this traditional wisdom.  Murray Thompson (Chapel)

Faith Link: This is a class that applies United Methodist beliefs to current faith issues and world events.  This class motivates Christians to consider their own personal views on contemporary issues.  Rick Ceresini (Room 35)

In the Light of Faith: This class will begin a 4 week study based on the book Heaven is for Real.  The book and DVD study follow the findings of a four year old boy and the trip he took to heaven and back during a life-saving surgery.  This study will begin on April 29.  Jen Noll (Room 34)

Uppity Women of the Bible: The ladies will be studying the book, Unveiling Mary Magdalene. Come discover the truth about the most understood woman of the New Testament.  The authorcombines fiction with biblical research to find the true identity of Mary Magdalene.  Kim Artrip (Room 33)
