There is a unique kind of strength found when men gather with a shared purpose. It isn’t just about the work we do or the titles we hold; it’s about the conversations that happen when we step away from the noise of daily life to connect, reflect, and support one another.
At Elkton United Methodist Church, we are beginning an exciting new chapter. We are laying the groundwork for a Men’s Ministry—a space specifically designed for the men of our congregation to find fellowship, mission-driven work, and a deeper sense of connection within our church family.
We are currently at the very beginning of this journey, which means your voice matters. We aren’t starting with a rigid set of rules or a pre-determined schedule. Instead, we are building this together.
Men's Missions: We want to identify and help with the needs of men not only within our congregation, but within Elkton too. For instance, who are the men within our church who could use a hand from time-to-time? What are the organizations in our community that minister to men and how might we get involved with them? In other words, where can we make a difference in men's lifes?
Fellowship: We want to create programs that are fun and meaningful for a broad group of men and that will enable us to better know our fellow brothers within the church. We are holding monthly men's breakfasts now, but what else might we do? We're talking about going to baseball games, holding cook outs, hosting movie nights and golf outings and more.
Service to our Church: What can the men of Elkton UMC do to assist in the day-to-day life of our church? In other words, what needs done? For instance, how might we support the Trustees? Do the church grounds need spruced up before Easter and Christmas services? Could we hold a fundraiser to meet a specific need at church? Is there another organization or group at church that needs help? In other words, how can the men of our church become more involved?
Spiritual Growth: What does God call men to do within their families and their church? What scriptures and readings can we study and discuss to better understand such questions? How can we grow spiritually as individuals and as a group of men within the church? Great concepts, but things that guys don't talk about much.
We want to hear your thoughts, your ideas, and your vision for what this ministry can become. This is an open invitation to every man in our community—whether you’ve been a member for decades or are walking through our doors for the first time.

Join us on our private Men's Ministry Group. The purpose of this group will be to provide more information on what this ministry might look like and give everyone an opportunity to share their thoughts on how men might become more involved and connected within our church. We are at the very beginning of this undertaking and are striving to develop a group that promotes fellowship, men's missions, spiritual growth, and service in our church. JOIN HERE
